About FileDrop

The Story

FileDrop was born out of frustration with modern cloud-based file transfer services. Why should a file passing from your laptop to your friend's laptop in the same room have to travel thousands of miles to a server, sit in cloud storage, and then travel back?

With web technologies advancing rapidly, browsers can now establish direct connections to one another. We built FileDrop to harness WebRTC and create a beautiful, frictionless interface around peer-to-peer data transfer. The result is faster, inherently private, and doesn't rely on costly server infrastructure.
