How Your Files Stay Safe
Signaling vs. Data Transmission
Our signaling server is only used to help two browsers find each other across the internet by exchanging connection metadata. Once connected, the WebRTC DataChannel takes over. The actual file bits are transmitted solely over this peer-to-peer channel.
Encryption in Transit
WebRTC mandates encryption. It is impossible to establish a WebRTC connection without it. Your files are encrypted using DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security) and SRTP, which are the same robust protocols used in modern secure banking and messaging apps.
